Quick Action Reporting Links and Enhanced Security Features

INKY introduces Quick Action Reporting Links for faster email reporting, enhanced VIP list subject line matching, expanded Advanced Block List rules, and ConnectWise integration updates.

Back

We're excited to roll out a powerful new enhancement to our "Report This Email" banner - Quick Action Reporting Links. These context-aware links let you report messages quicker with tailored options based on the message type.

Context-Aware Quick Actions

Depending on the nature of the message, you'll see tailored links right in the banner:

Phishing messages:

  • Report as Safe
  • Report as Spam and Block Sender (if enabled)
  • Report as Phish and Block Sender (if enabled)

Image

Spam messages:

  • Report as Safe and Allow Sender (if enabled)
  • Report as Spam and Block Sender (if enabled)
  • Report as Phish and Block Sender (if enabled)

Graymail:

  • Report as Not Graymail (if allow-list enabled) or Mark as Safe
  • Report as Spam and Block Sender (if enabled)
  • Report as Phish and Block Sender (if enabled)

Image

Other threats:

  • Report as Safe
  • Report as Spam and Block Sender (if enabled)
  • Report as Phish and Block Sender (if enabled)

Clean mail:

  • Send to Graymail (if graymail support is on and block enabled), else Mark as Safe
  • Report as Spam and Block Sender (if enabled)
  • Report as Phish and Block Sender (if enabled)

At the end of every set of links, you'll always have More… to open the full Report This Email page with all options.

Reporting as Spam or Phish will also automatically delete the message from the inbox or location of the report (junk or other folders).

Seamless Authentication

Single-click authentication on single-recipient messages: clicking any quick-action link on a one-to-one email automatically signs you in. INKY still attempts browser-based Microsoft or Google auto-sign-in, but this implicit auth makes reporting even faster.

How to Enable

  1. Navigate to User Reporting Settings
  2. Enable the following two checkboxes:
    • Replace the standard "Report This Email" link…
    • Automatically treat the user as authenticated…

Image

  1. Select the appropriate option from the Quick Links in the banner (e.g., "Phish" for a danger message)

  1. Confirm your selection on the confirmation page

If necessary, you can Cancel or select More Options to return to the normal "Report This Email" page to customize your reporting options.

VIP List & Subject Line Matching

Subject-Based VIP Name Matching (Exact Match Only)

When enabled, INKY now checks the email subject line against your VIP list. If the subject exactly matches a registered VIP name—yet the sender's address isn't on your VIP list—the message will be flagged as a potential spoof.

Key Features:

  • Exact-match only: Prevents near-misses and keeps false positives to a minimum
  • Automatic rollout: This detection is being enabled for all teams by default as the feature rolls out
  • Minimal false-positives expected: Based on our testing of the new matching logic

You can enable or disable this option at any time in your VIP List Settings.

Historically, INKY's subject-line spoof detection has been powered by a broad, generic model that learned patterns over time. Your VIP list itself has always been a precise, curated set of trusted names—but the subject matching logic was generalized. Now, we've added a targeted, exact-match layer: if an email's subject exactly matches a VIP name but the sender address isn't on your list, it will be flagged as a potential spoof.

Advanced Block List: Expanded Data-Type Rules

You can now create block-list rules not just on URLs and attachments, but on all of these message properties:

Sender

  • Email address
  • Fully qualified domain name (FQDN)
  • Registered domain

Reply-To

  • Email address
  • FQDN
  • Registered domain

To

  • Recipient address
  • FQDN
  • Registered domain

Additional Fields

  • Sender display name
  • Subject line
  • Message-ID domain
  • Sender IP address

Simply select the new data type when you build or edit a rule—any match will assign the configured threat category and level (e.g., "Danger" → Phishing Content) and trigger your existing delivery location.

The Advanced Block List is available exclusively on Pro and Advanced SKUs. To upgrade or request a trial, please contact your account executive.

Support for New Products in ConnectWise Integration

We'll now support the new INKY products within the ConnectWise Integration. You'll still be able to map the previous products under the Legacy Product Features section.
