In this update, INKY introduces a new "Abused Service" threat category to detect when legitimate services are exploited for malicious purposes, with examples including PayPal payment scams and Adobe Sign abuse. The release also expands GenAI detection capabilities with new intent labels such as Ultimatum, Cold Email, Support Line, and Nudge to better identify sophisticated phishing attempts. Additionally, Super Admins can now delete Team Dashboards, providing improved management control over organizational resources.
Abused Service
Many organizations rely on automated notifications from platforms like file-sharing services, productivity tools, and customer engagement systems. Unfortunately, attackers have found ways to exploit these trusted services—either by compromising accounts or abusing open email functions—to send malicious emails that appear completely legitimate.
With Abused Services detection, INKY analyzes these messages for telltale signs of compromise, abuse, and suspicious intent. Even when the email originates from a real service, INKY flags potential threats, helping users avoid phishing attempts that would otherwise slip past standard security filters.
This new protection enhances INKY's ability to stop advanced threats before they reach inboxes—keeping your organization safe from increasingly sophisticated attacks.
Examples:
PayPal payment abuse to phone scam
Adobe Sign abused with Coinbase and PayPal payment information
Interestingly, this phisher was also using an "O" instead of a "0" for all "0" characters.
New GenAI Labels - Expanding GenAI Detection with New Intent Labels
Understanding the intent behind every message is crucial to detecting phishing threats. As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, INKY has introduced new intent labels to enhance our GenAI-powered detection platform.
- Ultimatum – Detects when a sender pressures the recipient with an ultimatum.
- Cold Email – Identifies senders who haven't reached out in a long time, signaling potential phishing attempts.
- Support Line – Flags messages that include a support phone number or email with instructions to contact for assistance.
- Nudge – Recognizes subtle prompts designed to elicit a response from the recipient.
These new labels strengthen INKY's ability to analyze and categorize messages, helping organizations stay ahead of evolving phishing tactics.
GenAI Labels continuously evolve as INKY refines detections based on emerging threats, shifting sentiment, and phishing patterns. Categories and definitions may change over time to ensure the most accurate and effective results.
Super Admins can Delete Team Dashboards
Team dashboards are accessible in the Custom Dashboard section when the Team filter is selected. Previously, only the dashboard creator could delete them. Now, Super Admins can navigate to team dashboards and remove them as needed.
